Case Study 1: Enterprise Retailer - Technology | Modernization

The enterprise retail initiative focused on modernization of software architecture and a target legacy application as an integrated team with our client. Knowledge transfer (KT) was critical to begin the upskilling journey for client team collaborators. Our client has aging software architecture challenges and partnered with EQengineered to catalyze the modernization of their internal applications by defining a future-friendly, technical architecture first, while helping the internal team own the future state applications and enhancement. We will begin the second application modernization initiative in mid-September.

Case Study 2: Enterprise Healthcare Company - Data Engineering | ML

The data engagement involved working alongside a healthcare data science team to make an ML-based claims processing model production ready. The solution was built as a hybrid architecture, with an on-prem web application component with JS/Python/Flask, cloud-hosted components consisting of data processing with Azure Data Factory and ML models built with Azure Databricks notebooks.

This project started with an assessment and gap analysis of the data layer, app layer, cloud infrastructure and nonfunctional requirements to ensure the end solution could be extended from an internal to an external audience and consider other business use cases. EQengineered conducted an audit of the full application stack and addressed gaps in security, and deployment for both the on-prem and cloud components. We incorporated cloud-based best-practices like use of Azure Key Vault for secure storage of credentials, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for deployment automation.

The next phase will focus on harmonizing the core application with approved enterprise technologies, namely ReactJS/Microsoft .NET Core for the web application, migrating the on-prem components to Azure and making cloud-native with auto-scaling, cost control, and performance monitoring.

This project has set the foundation for alignment with approved technologies, cloud, security, and data governance best practices which will act as a reference architecture for other cloud-based applications. This project will also serve as a basis for a democratized SDLC model for the organization for subsequent projects.

Case Study 3: Enterprise Data Engineering Firm - Design | Front End Engineering Services

EQengineered also worked to deliver an Angular-based, rapid application design and development (RADD) MVP of a data solution for a large data engineering firm. The cloud-based digital product will be taken to production to compete with other global data solutions. The approach is focused on minimal downstream re-factoring to ensure velocity to deployment. Time to market/value and time to onboarding are critical success factors for the digital product.
